Alex Loftus is a Lecturer in Geography. He holds degrees in Geography from Edinburgh University, Queen’s University, Canada and Oxford University. Alex’s main interest is in the political ecology of cities, explored through work on the politics of water, urban interventions and marxist thought. Alex is the author of Everyday Environmentalism: Creating an Urban Political Ecology (forthcoming in 2012 with University of Minnesota Press) and is co-editor of Gramsci: Space, Nature, Politics (forthcoming in 2012 with Wiley-Blackwell) and of The Right to Water: Politics, Governance and Social Struggles (forthcoming in 2012 with Earthscan). He is part of the admissions team in the department
