Personal profile
My research focuses primarily on personal values (what is important in the life of an individual), their stability and change, and their complex effects on personal outcomes, such as well-being, and societal outcomes, such as prejudice. Recently, I have been particularly focusing on value change, and my work has challenged previous assumptions on value stability and change (funded by the ESRC, British Academy and Nuffield). My research on well-being (funded by Nuffield and ESRC) aims to understand what we can do to increase our well-being, particularly examining effects of certain values and behaviours.
