I work on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, where I specialise in trigger software.
I am a member of the management team of the trigger project with responsibility for software quality, delivery and maintenance.
I am also involved in Grid computing as the the site manager of the WLCG Tier2 service at RHUL. I am a member of the UK GridPP collaboration.
I teach a course in computer programming with Java to second year physics undergraduates.
I was awarded a PhD in Particle Physics from the University of Bristol in 1995. My Thesis title was "Design of the SDC Second Level Silicon Tracking Trigger and Study of Strange Meson Production in Deep Inelastic Scattering with the ZEUS Detector at HERA".
I graduated from the University of Bristol in 1992 with first class honours in physics.
My secondary education began at Harrogate Grammar School and continued at Cherwell School, Oxford culminating in 'A' levels in maths, physics and chemisty in 1989.
